Ivory (She/Her) has several years of specialized experience working with neurodivergent community (e.g., Autistic, ADHD, Intellectual Disabilities, etc.) from the age of 3 in various settings, including special education classrooms in public schools, Ivory emphasizes fostering emotional regulation, self-expression, and social confidence through a neurodiversity-affirming and strengths-based approach.
Ivory works with BIPOC children and teenagers with adverse childhood experiences (ACE) in foster care, dropout programs, and behavioral hospital settings. She also volunteers as a Crisis and Suicide text hotline responder.
Ivory believes that therapy is a therapist and a client walking through the healing journey together, creating a non-judgemental space for individuals with unconditional support. She strives to build strong therapeutic relationships that empower clients to develop resilience, emotional regulation, self-esteem, and stress management skills.
Ivory is fluent in English and Mandarin.
As an immigrant herself, living overseas for more than 7 years, Ivory deeply understands how culture shapes identity, relationships, and mental health. She is passionate about supporting immigrants and individuals from diverse backgrounds, helping them navigate challenges such as cultural adaptation, intergenerational dynamics, systemic barriers, and identity exploration.
Ivory is neurotypical, but she actively immerses herself in learning from the perspectives of the Autistic & ADHD community with an open mind and critical thinking.
Ivory is a musician and loves oil pastel painting, and she uses creative arts for self-care. She learned piano at a young age and later learned to play guitar. Her preferred music genres include pop, indie, Latino, & Lo-fi.
